Dana definitely has her cute moments and not-so-cute moments. Let me preface this by saying she has 3 of 4 eye teeth coming in and that can't feel too good. Most of the time she is carefree, flexible and downright funny. Other times she can be a crabby brat. But then she is my daughter so I guess I deserve it. She doesn't understand that the word no is a command. She thinks it's funny. She thinks if Mommy said it, it must be ok to do. This falls under the "what part of no don't you understand!" I realize she's only 18.5 months old but come on already! She does understand it, she's just testing me. When does that stop? When she's 18?
So on top of being flat out tired of being tested, carrying a 30lb child various places and having no life outside of her, she dropped her hard plastic water sippy cup on my foot tonight. I have a silver dollar sized bruise on the top of my foot...that practically showed right after it happened. Fortunately David was home and could take her so I could put some ice on it but man, beat me when I'm down why don't ya!
I don't know how this weaning thing is going to end. Not easily is my guess. We're down to the night feeding and she clearly enjoys it and wants it. Oh, how I wish I could take a week and disappear to a spa and return with all being right with the world and my daughter. But no, David is working 7 days a week and I'm stuck doing what I do best. Playing the role of Mom. Mom who needs to wean her kid. Ugh....
I know why people get fat after breastfeeding....the weaning process leads to the eating of much comfort food. I better be careful or I'm going to wind up a large girl.
