Breastfeeding. 18 months and here we are. Time to stop. Between the pressure of the headaches and the fact that Dana is 30 lbs and just doesn't fit into my lap anymore, I think it's time to stop. I'm emotional to a point. I think I just reached my limit. When we had our 18 month check up last week, I saw Dana as a little girl, not as a baby anymore. The nurse weighed her on the "big kid" scale. And she stood there like a big girl too. And when she didn't even cry when they took her blood for her allergy test, I think that sealed the deal. She's growing up. Now David P. would chime in with "Sunrise Sunset" if he were reading this but it's true. She not a baby anymore.
So I dropped the morning feeding on Monday, didn't do it today either and all seems fine. She hasn't noticed. I'm starting to think about the fact that I might actually get to sleep in one day this weekend. I left a message for Leslye who hasn't returned my call as per usual to find out when I should drop the night feeding. I just don't want to get engorged and deal with all the crap that I dealt with in the beginning. That sucked, no pun intended. Could you imagine if I had a clogged duct at this point? Would I have to pump? Ah hell no! If I don't hear from her I'll just go a week with one feeding and then drop the last one. That's when I'll need a drink....or an imitrex.
With David working so much right now, I'm doing everything for Dana. I'm so freakin tired. And all I can do for myself is eat and see the chiropractor. I'm sure giving my 30 pounder a bath tonight after the chiropractor was a great idea, NOT. Oh well, what can you do? She was a sweaty mess. At least she loves her bath and goes to bed easily. Don't know what I'd do if she didn't.
Well, time to decide what to eat for dinner. David still isn't home and frankly, I'd rather veg than eat but I don't want the headache either. At least I'm finally doing something proactive for my head and perhaps the weaning will help. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
