Words, words, words

Dana is amazing. She is repeating and repeating and even saying things on her own. This morning she pointed to her shirt and said "heart." Unbelievable. David was home today so we took her to Underwood Farms. There she got to pet a donkey....and say "donkey" too! Other words were "tuck" for truck, "bottle," "nose," "home," "hello," and "pink." And she continues to say "help" and "read" with enthusiasm. So to date, here is the list of what Dana can say or has said in the last month or so:

Mama, Mommy, Dada, Daddy, doggie, hi, cookie, no, boo boo, up (actually her first word many months ago), knee, hockey, bubbas (bubbles), cacas (crackers), hoppy (grasshopper), bye bye, ca (car), bu (bus), that, baby, booby, mail, hot, pop, go, mah (more), turtle-urtle-er (turtle), oakie dokie, hooray, big, purple, wish (fish), wolf, help, read, shoes, book (also said many months ago), hat, twee (tree), cheese, apple, bead, bean, heart, home, tuck (truck), pink, hello, nose, bottle, oatios (what!), and donkey. Oh, and she calls Big Bird, "Booby."

I have probably missed something because she repeats stuff. She repeated "shade" today but I don't think she actually knows what it is. Same with "stuck." Nevertheless, she is a talker and we're psyched!

She on a mommy kick right now. Everything is mommy. I need a break! David was home today and I got an hour to myself. Woohoo. So not enough. What is really frustrating is when he forgets the routine or what to do in a given moment. Sometimes I wonder if he just expects me to do everything. I'm beginning to resent that again. Perhaps I should tell him before it gets crazy. Whatever, I'm just glad that I found someone who can babysit every now and then and David's parents are coming on Saturday so we can go out. I just want to eat a nice meal out without having to rush, feed Dana and make sure the chaos stays to a minimum.

I made a new casserole tonight. Let's hope it tastes good. All I know is there's ice cream for dessert!
